Urbanism
A publication and sculpture exploring green spaces within urban Liverpool through type and cartography.
Using a big map of the city, I traced the green spaces in the city and used the shapes they create to make my own abstract typeface, titled ‘urbanism’.
I used this typeface in the publication, having regular text turn into my font to display the urbanism ‘taking over’, something I portrayed as a positive thing and wanted to celebrate! I like green spaces and missed it in the big city.
I also made a 3D model of the city of the inversed shapes of Liverpool’s greenspaces.
